"The Very Hungry Caterpillar" Toddler Activities

I have a 2 1/2 years old daughter and I was searching for activities to make Storytime more fun!
I invited a group of moms of the Buzzy Kids Group and their children and we had an educative morning.

I decorate the table with images of the book and real fruit. The children practiced their Vocabulary telling the names and colors of the fruits.

Also I decorated the house with paper plates creating a friendly caterpillar.
.
We began with Circle Time, singing a welcome song with a puppet so the children felt relax for the Storytime.

Storytime: "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. We want to instill in our children a love of language and books.

We continue with Toddler Activities related with the book.  A Puzzle for the 24 months children from http://storytime-storytime.blogspot.com/ and a Matching game for the 18 months children. They develop Visual Discrimination and Numbers and Quantity.

Also I did some Sense Activities, they smelt and ate bananas and finally before the craft activity we sang and danced the song "Fly, fly the Butterfly" with maracas. Music and Movement are important too.

We had a craft activity with bottle caps, construction paper and glue that stimulate their Fine Motor Skills. They loved it!
